In 2016, Bill Nordmark and John Grant formed the Atlanta Friendship Initiative. Bill struggled with racial injustice and inequalities throughout Atlanta and society as a whole. Determined to take action, Bill reached out to acquaintance John Grant, former CEO of 100 Black Men of Atlanta, and invited him to begin a friendship. But not just any friendship, rather one that would allow for meaningful conversations and launch a movement with business and community leaders across Atlanta.
We lost Bill in 2018. But his memory and vision continue to have impact through the many friendships created.
Atlanta Friendship Initiative’s concept was, and remains, to build meaningful relationships to eliminate racism.
